Sunday 20 December, meet at Russell around 5.45pm (to be confirmed).

Drive to Brodburger (near Kingston) for dinner, buy it there or bring your own. Then we'll cruise as a club around some scenic Xmas light displays.

Last years event went well with around a dozen VWs in convoy, in many places we got more looks from the public than the lights did! Many owners decorated their cars with lights, it looked very speccy.

Come along and join the fun! Great for the family.

I will confirm these details soon (details are on my email, which won't open....grrr....).

Who's coming?

I'm sorry I won't be there - I'm farm sitting and it's too far away to travel in Griff at night. Pls take some photos

Hi,

I'm not a member of the Club (yet) but I was hoping to tag along if that's OK. A mate of mine was also considering coming along in his EK station wagon if you don't mind some non-VW (but classic none the less) company.

Cheers,

Jose.

Everyone is welcome!

Slight change of plan, Brodburger now isn't open at that time of the night so everyone needs to bring a picnic dinner, etc. We will still eat near the lake but won't be buying it.

Times will need to be watched too, with the sun going down a bit later we won't want to get to the lights too early. We'll see how it goes on the night. Last years event was pretty good and this year will be just as great.

A late report is better than nothing.....

We had a great event, meeting at Russell and having a meal in the park adjacent to Lake Burley Griffin. A good mixture of vehicles - Beetles, Kombi's, a Polo and an old Holden. We hope that all attendees enjoyed the event and the conversation with the other Dubbers.

Big thanks to Mark, who organised the event this year - he found some excellent light displays (we went to the Kambah area) and he ran a tight ship. Well done.

Pictures below are a few that I took of the event in general, except for 2 pictures which were taken by Jim (thanks for passing them on to me) - they are the shots of the actual house light displays.
