ACT VW Forum

The Sydney Nationals have been and gone, well done to the Sydney club for a great event. I didn't get to the Super Sprints on Saturday but heard some great reports from it.

The Sunday show was huge and a credit to the organising committee. I really urge everyone here to try and get there next year, some great cars on show, items for sale, advice, the whole VW atmosphere is great.

We had some trophy winners in our midst, congratulations to Peter Shelley (I know he got a trophy for his modified Audi, unsure of the exact details), Gareth (2nd in the modified Mk 1 class I believe), Jim (2nd in the standard splitty class) and Mark (1st in modified Bay Kombi's). We also had 3 beetles there that were in top condition, plus a couple of locals selling their wares at the swap meet...not to mention other Canberrans just visiting.

Well done to everyone who got to the event, I am sure you enjoyed yourself. I rode as passenger in Marks Kombi, a public thanks to him for putting up with my jokes for the trip!

OK Here we go - a great day, weather was PERFECT especially given the days leading up to it!

Here are our local cars, minus Elton's splitty and Peter Shelley's Audi (didn't get pics of them for some reason):

It was a good weekend.
Kids enjoyed the rides (especially getting a trike ride with 'the bat and the cat') and there were a lot of good cars to have a look at (and parts to browse).
Also good to see some Canberrans win some prizes!

Had no dramas getting there, and kids enjoyed beetling back home.
