Summernats will again be held in January 2010, with a 'Family Day' being held on 10 January. We can arrange for free passes for up to 2 people if you are bringing your car along to show on the day (in the Arena I believe).

Cars need to be fairly special - no rat-looks or standard factory cars, we need to see the special cars - modifieds or fairly unique in some way. They need to be able to hold their own in the sea of other makes there.

If your car has what it takes, send me a PM and we will arrange further details. Note - we have to place final nominations by 23 Dec so you don't have much time. We will need your details, the car details, and will need a recent photo of the car to confirm its eligibility.

If you are approved, you will get free entry on that day when you take your car (and one passenger).

I've been in discussion with the organiser and we are willing to try and get some extra entries by opening it a bit to some of the 'standard' cars - they'd rather not go to full rat-entries yet but certainly some of the good quality standard cars.

For example, my green 64 bug is fairly basic and we may look at putting it in now. If your car looks good, let me know.

Here's the catch: we need to know TODAY, by maybe 3ish this arvo. PM me if you are interested and include your phone number.

...edit 29 Dec... I will try to get any club members in who are interested in showing their car - its open to any late-entry club cars (not just exemplary models), but the extended time is running out. If you are interested, PM me NOW .

Summernats is over for another year, the club displayed alongside other ACT car clubs and we had a few enquiries here and there. Thanks to Mark for coming along and showing the Kombi off. I thought we might have had a few more interested members for the display (including free entry), maybe next year. Also thanks to Shari, Rhiannon and James for coming along as well.
